Frankie's story....
Frankie Moonshine is a burlesque performer from Milwaukee Wisconsin. Who is proud of her queerness and her Hispanic heritage. She credits her love of burlesque to Miss Kitty from the children’s movie “An American Tale, Fievel Goes West” and the one episode Real Sex on HBO that highlighted burlesque performers. Her love of performing comes from watching old MGM films. Which her in the closet Grandfather would introduce her to. He would take the time to teach her about different forms of art. Frankie finally took the plunge into dance in 2023. Where she got to gogo at Pridefest in Milwaukee. She was lucky to find friends who had similar interests and wanted to make space for new performers. She cofounded Milwaukees Vaudeville Vixens with those friends. Burlesque has given Frankie a stage to finally express herself. Something she didn’t get to do before performing. It challenges her in so many ways. It has also connected her to people with similar viewpoints.
She hopes to one day be able to make more time for burlesque as her personal life is a busy one.Frankie currently runs a popular pie shop in Milwaukee. Along with being a parent and a self proclaimed “ late blooming lesbian”, she hopes to continue to grace stages for many years to come.
